sea trip

I’m going to Nanaimo this Saturday. Now…, you’re probably thinking…”well, that’s not very exciting” But it is. I’m so very excited! I love Nanaimo!

Last month I took a little but much needed vacation to Victoria. ‘A little’ because it was way too short, ‘much needed’ because I felt I needed to get away, plus my dentist said I’ve started clenching my teeth, a sure sign of stress or some other psychological trauma. This proved I really needed to get away!

I had an almost life altering experience, I had such an amazing couple of days that it felt almost life altering; I thought I’d come back and become a different and better person. Victoria was beautiful and wonderful; I took long walks, shopped, toured incredible places and went for loads more soul searching walks. I really was a different person; I even wore these scarves that made me feel serenely elegant.

In a somewhat related matter, the phrase “Oh look, there’s a trash can in the States” totally makes sense when walking by the closed-off ferry station (in the middle of downtown Victoria) with the customs/immigration sign that says “Stop! Do not go beyond this point. You’re crossing an international border’’ yet all you’re still right in downtown Victoria

On the Friday, I took a two hour scenic train ride to Nanaimo. It was equally incredible; the island’s so relaxed and laid back you never want to leave. The harbour area’s gorgeous, the never ending charming trails and little quaint shops that makes it feels like an old European town. It’s all just so peaceful and beautiful.

I’m going back on Saturday; this time I’m taking a short ferry ride from Vancouver to Nanaimo which is quicker than the whole Vancouver to Victoria to Nanaimo trip.

Anyway, I just thought I share that.
