Bride’s in the mail!

Two guys from my office married both their wives from Thailand. They met them online (on a sort of mail order bride site) and went to Thailand to marry them. The first guy’s wife came last year; I thought it was all very exotic, adventurous and romantic. Most of my co-workers however disagreed; they said it was dangerous and degrading (to the women) and you couldn’t quite possibly fall in love with someone you barely knew. But what do they know; they’re all sad and old and (probably) hate their husbands. I think it’s a courageous idea! In fact, I’m warming up to send for my own good breed, well trained hunk of male from Ghana, my mother’s working on it. But I digress!

Months after the first bride arrived, my co-worker (her husband) mentioned that he didn’t feel his beautiful wife’s love was genuine and she probably deceived him just so she can come to Canada, yet they’re still together though he complains that she sits on phone all day, personally, I think he’s just self-absorbed.

Last week second co-worker’s wife arrived; he took a whole week off! I imagined them having continuous torrid sex, with her showing him all the tricks she learnt at mail-order-bride school. I know… I have a dirty mind.

So anyway, this morning I hear (read: eavesdropping) him on the phone with her, and he asks if “she likes foreign films?” Isn’t that something you’d already know about your wife? Plus, what exactly does he mean by “foreign films” the woman is from Thailand!

As you can see, I had a really mind boggling day at work today!

Side note : Rumours are ‘Tru Calling’ is being cancelled, however, tonight while jogging, I saw them shooting on the small park by the marina in Yaletown. Hehehe…maybe no one told them.
