Unrelated bits

Letterman

me: do you want to know why David Letterman named his baby after his father

sis: what baby?

me: the new baby he just had with his girlfriend

sis: David Letterman has a girlfriend????

Alias

Sunday nights are good tv nights for my sister and I because Alias is on. My sister’s into the whole secret agent thing, I just like those dangerous missions to those exotic locations and the kickass outfits. I like it even much better now that Melissa George (Lauren Reed, Vaughn’s wife)joined the cast. Exactly two years ago I wrote this about her. I let out an over-exaggerated shriek of “Angel! whenever she comes on just to rile my sister a bit.

sis: you know we’re not supposed to like her right?

me: yeah but it’s Angel

sis: no this isn’t Angel, this is evil Lauren

me: yeah but we’re glad to see her, even as evil Lauren right?

sis: It’s great she’s making it here but can she go do it on another show?

me: yeah but it’s angel!

sis: hey! I’m sure they’ll be glad to have her back on H&W

me: huh?

sis: there’re a lots of husbands/fiancés’ in Summer Bay she can go steal and lives she can ruin!

me: you know this is just a tv show right?

sis: you know she’s not really Angel right?

not to be mistaken…

A friend from Maryland sent an email asking what I was doing this weekend. I replied: “I’m volunteering at a Diabetes forum this Saturday in Richmond, BC not VA. Then there’s a Ghanaian funeral in Surrey, BC not England. Tuesday’s a holiday so I might take a day trip to Victoria, BC, not Australia”

In my defence, this friend drove a couple of hours into some town in Ontario and called me excitedly that he was in ‘Canada’ and I should come hang out, I had to explain to him it would take me almost the same time to get there as it would be to get to Maryland.

His response to my email; “you know I’m not a total idiot, right?”
